Standard Procedure:

1. Market Survey and Shareware (older versions of the ImageFinder)

      Clients will:

 Scan the market and get a Vendor list.
 Download Attrasoft and other vendors shareware. 
 Get one free Email Support.
 Make a preliminary investigation of the Attrasoft technology.
 Make a decision to select a vendor or vendors from their vendor list.
 Go to the next phase. 


2. Preliminary Assessment and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Product

      Background: 

           Any project with Image Recognition functions will indicate:

  • You are a pioneer in your field and you have a creative mind;
  • You are there to create NEW product/services;
  • Image Recognition Projects are expensive. 
In general, a Feasibility Study Project or a Proof-Of-Concept (POC) project will be required. To convince you, or your organization, or client of your company, ..., that such a POC project should take place, a Preliminary Assessment will often precede the Proof-Of-Concept. 


         A Preliminary Assessment consists of: 

 Order ImageFinder from http://attrasoft.com/gs.html  ($499).
           Get technical support.
           Get one free set up for your specific application.
           Make a decision to go to the next phase.

3. Proof-of-Concept

After the Preliminary Assessment, clients usually decided to proceed to POC project. i.e the Phase 3 of the procedure:

Phase 1: Market Survey
Phase 2: Preliminary Assessment
Phase 3:  POC (Proof-of-Concept) Project;
Phase 4:  Main Contract with multiple milestones.

The Attrasoft Proof-of-Concept Project phase is designed to minimize our customer’s risk, i.e. before the main project gets started, an extensive Feasibility Study is done to reduce the chance of failure to as low as humanly possible. This phase attempts to answer only a single question: Can the job be done?

This phase will use the 

  • Fixed Price Project Model;
  • One or two SOW; and 
  • The cost is $20,000 to $50,000.


4. System Integration/Licensing
Attrasoft can build customized software for clients or license technology to clients. Attrasoft can provide:

  • Customized Stand Alone Software.
  • Customized System Integration with Camera and Scanner (Attrasoft serves as a system integrator).
  • Customized Library via Licensing Agreement.
  • Support
3. Standard Services

Attrasoft Services are divided into:

  • Standard Service and Software (ImageFinder Services)
  • Customized Service and Development
This section addresses standard services and the next section addresses customized services.

The standard service uses the Fixed Price Project Model and there will be no customization of the software. Attrasoft's ImageFinder Services are designed to accelerate a company's path to deploy Image Recognition Solutions. Our Structured Service Offerings help you to develop your products/services with the ImageFinder as a component. 

ImageFinder Support Service Packages are designed to help a company to understand the process of integrating Image Recognition technology into the clients’ product/service. From a large set of possible paths, a company must plan the most realistic execution to ensure the success of the project. 

 The focus of Attrasoft’s Support Service is to follow the right development path and shorten the learning curve for developers. Based on dozens of past successful projects, Attrasoft's development experience will specify the required work and map the shortest path to system integration. Most importantly, Attrasoft Services might prevent you from following a wrong path; thus, save you from unnecessary waste of resources, even failure of the project. 

System Integration with the ImageFinder as a component has two basic approaches: 

  •     ImageFinder for Dos (Dos Command Line version of the ImageFinder) 
  •     Attrasoft TransApplet  (Library)

 (0) ImageFinder for Windows. 
 (1) Preliminary Assessment with 100 images.

 Phase III. Proof-Of-Concept:
(2) Full Proof-Of-Concept with 1,000 images.
(3) Annual Consulting.

 Phase IV. Main Project:
 (4) System Integration using ImageFinder for Dos.
     (a) Development License.
     (b) Licensing.
     (c) Support 20%.
 (5) Development with TransApplet:
     (a) Development License using TransApplet.
     (b) Licensing.
     (c) Support 20%.

3.2 Service Specification

With ImageFinder Level 0 Service (that comes with the purchase of the ImageFinder), you can: 
 

  •  Get Help for Installing and Running the software, such as how to obtain Microsoft .Net Framework and "J# .Net Redistributable". 
  •  Get Help on how to operate the software by running examples in the ImageFinder and trying some of your own examples.
  •  Evaluate the ImageFinder and justify a product/service development opportunity to your organization based on the Preliminary Evaluation, if such a project is not already in place. The Preliminary Evaluation is usually based on a few of your own images.
  •  Select a Service Package based on your need.


With ImageFinder Level 1 Service ($1,000), you can:

  • Set an implementation roadmap based on dozens of past Attrasoft projects. Attrasoft's development experience will specify the required work and map the shortest path to System Integration; most importantly, Attrasoft Services might prevent you from following a wrong path.
  •  Develop a Miniature Proof-of-Concept Demo using the ImageFinder for your internal justification purposes based on 100 images. The 100 images should result in 10,000 comparisons in an N: N Matching, thus, promote confidence and gather internal support from your company, your clients, ....
  •  Define necessary performance requirements as defined by several variables in the ImageFinder. 


With ImageFinder Level 2 Service ($5,000), in addition to Level 1 Service, you can:

  •  Get Help to finalize an implementation road map as more information is gathered;
  •  Develop a Proof-of-Concept (Feasibility) Demo using the ImageFinder, which will specify all of the parameters to be used in the final product/services. 1,000 images will be used in the Feasibility Study, resulting in 1,000,000 comparisons in an N: N Matching.


With ImageFinder Level 3 Service ($10,000  per year), in addition to Level 2 Service, you can:

  •  Receive this consultation service; our deliverables are emails and telephone conversations. 
  •  Get Consultation Help from Attrasoft throughout your entire Development Phase, from device setup, data collection, layered approach, up to the System Integration, ensuring smooth development.
In all of the above cases, the Off-the-Shelf ImageFinder is used. 

However, from time to time because projects using Image Recognition are Pioneer Initiatives, it is sometimes necessary to make minor modifications to the ImageFinder; sometimes, a major effort will be necessary for the Proof-of-Concept Study. 

With ImageFinder Level 4 Service ($20,000- $50,000), in addition to Level 3 Service, you can:
· Get a Customized ImageFinder with Minor Programming Efforts (<500 non-recurring engineering hours) for one or more of the following reasons:
 

  •  Reducing the Operation Complexity via Attrasoft tuning the Parameters to one specific image type; 
  •  Speed Optimization; 
  •  Internal Structure Optimization;
  •  Data Input Optimization via preprocessed data rather raw data;
  •  Graphical User Interface Customization; 
  •  Neural Network Module and structure Customization; 
  •  Memory Optimization (For some problems, the RAM consumption can   be reduced by 80%); 
  •  Database Interface; 
  •  New Image Preprocessing Filters; 
  •  Programming Library; 
  •  Specific Symmetries or Combination of Symmetries; 
  •  Fine Tuning of the Neural Parameters; 
  •  Digital Image Database (Combine ImageFinder with Database); 
  •  Image Formats other than jpg and gif; 
  •  Internet Image Search Engines; 
  •  Multi-Layers of Image Matching; 
  •  Web Interface (solutions that will provide users with a searchable database using a Web Interface); 
  •  Other Specific Needs. 
With ImageFinder Level 5 Service (TBA), in addition to Level 4  Service, you can:
  •  Get a Customized ImageFinder that requires Major Programming Efforts.


4. Customized POC Project

Attrasoft Services are divided into:

  • Standard Service and Software (ImageFinder Services)
  • Customized Service and Development
The last section addresses standard services and this section addresses customized services.

A Proof-Of-Concept Project often requires customization for accuracy reasons.  A Proof of Concept Project is designed to answer one simple question: Can the job be done? At the end of this project, a client knows for sure the Job CAN BE  Done, and then focuses on implementation and business issues.

The Customized POC Project is further divided into two types:

· Type I: the project scope is well defined;
· Type II: the project scope is not well defined. 

The features of Type I Customized POC Projects are:

(1) The deliverable is a stand-alone software, a customized ImageFinder.
(2) This customized Proof of Concept Project generally uses the Fixed Price Project Model.
(3) A typical Customized Proof-of-Concept Project will take hundreds of non-recurring engineering hours.
(4) This Customized Proof of Concept Project is a major marketing effort from Attrasoft. 
(5) This Customized Proof of Concept Project indicates the client is committed to the next phase, but the client is not obligated to go to the next phase.
(6) This Customized Proof-of-Concept Project is not Attrasoft’s goal; it is a path to move to the Main Contract stage.
(7) This Customized Proof of Concept Project, in general, will not deal with the client’s technology  (Software, applications, web interface, quality control process, ideas related to development of technology, database...) except for the client’s data, which is covered by the NDA.

If clients do not know enough to specify all of the requirements in the Statement of Work, Attrasoft will specify the requirements in the SOW for the client. After evaluating the Attrasoft deliverables, clients will have gained the necessary knowledge to specify modified requirements and/or additional requirements, which will then be addressed via a new SOW.

Type II Customized POC Projects will have 2 steps:

(1) Original SOW (Statement Of Work);
(2) Modified SOW.
 

5. Pricing Models

 Fixed Price Project Model 

      This model is used for the Proof-of-Concept Phase and Implementation 1 Phase. With our Fixed Price Projects, Attrasoft offers you a cost effective and low risk method of developing  software applications for your
organization. This model is used for projects where the client has a clear idea about the requirements of the project.

      ATTRASOFT helps the client define the best approach within the AME (Attrasoft Matching Engine) scope for developing their customized image recognition and data mining applications, including writing 80% of the SOW.  ATTRASOFT uses its experience / expertise with image recognition technology to deliver a high quality solution on time. 

  Time And Material Project Model 

      ATTRASOFT can also execute a Time and Material Based Project Model for your organization. This model is suitable for projects that have very dynamic requirements. Examples are: 

(1) the development of a new and revolutionary product where design and implementation are constantly changing to adapt to new requirements; 
(2) the development of a new and revolutionary product where design and implementation are only visible to the current phase due to the R&D nature;
(3) mission critical projects where a detailed system specification cannot be created or provided by the client due to time constraints.

      ATTRASOFT can provide services for these projects using the Time and Material Model with very aggressive implementations. 

  Phased Fixed Price Project Model 

      Because Image Recognition and Data Mining are on the front line of technology, most clients prefer a phased approach. In this model some phases are done on a Time and Material Basis Model, while others are done on a Fixed Price Model. This model uses the Time and Material Model for certain phases,  which are dynamic in nature and the Fixed Price Model for certain phases, which have a defined specification.
